How do I register my child in the Meliva App?
Die Registrierung deines Kindes erfolgt über den Account der Eltern. Zuerst lädst du dich selbst die Meliva App auf dein Handy oder startest die Web-Version. What is a child sickness certificate (Kindkrank-Bescheinigung)?
A child sickness certificate, also known as a “Kindkrankschreibung,” is a certificate of incapacity for work issued to parents when their own child is sick and needs to be cared for by them. The certificate entitles the caregiving parent to stay away from work. If the employer does not continue to pay the salary, the caregiving parent can use the certificate to apply for child sickness benefit (Kinderkrankengeld) from their own health insurance. Such a certificate is issued by a doctor. However, there are certain requirements that must be met for a parent to receive this certificate:
- Both the child and the caregiving parent are covered by statutory health insurance.
- There is no one else in the household who can care for the child instead of the employee.
- The child is under 12 years of age (there is no age limit for children with disabilities) and is dependent on care.
- The child lives in the household of the caregiving parent.
- The need for care arose unexpectedly and acutely, e.g., due to an illness or an accident.
How do I receive my documents?
After medical treatment, documents can be issued to you, which will be sent to you electronically in the app. Prescriptions are also issued electronically and sent via the secure telematics infrastructure. These can be redeemed and picked up at any pharmacy by scanning your child’s insurance card.
How can I book an appointment?
You don’t need an appointment! Simply select the “Consultation for mental health” in the Meliva App under the Digital Practice menu item and answer our questionnaire directly. Based on your answers, our doctors can get a first impression of your concern and will get back to you as soon as possible.
Is the online consultation secure?
